Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on, high-ownership Senior Accountant to help build and scale our accounting foundation. This role is ideal for a candidate with ~5 years of experience, preferably a recent Senior from Big 4, who is looking to transition into an operating role and take ownership of core accounting processes.

You will play a critical role in establishing scalable processes, supporting financial reporting, and partnering cross-functionally as the company grows. This position requires someone who is comfortable working in ambiguity, moves quickly, and is excited to build from the ground up.

We are also looking for someone who is interested in leveraging automation and AI tools to improve efficiency, reduce manual work, and enhance the accuracy of financial processes.

This role reports to the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting.

In This Role, You Will

Own key areas of the month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.

Lead PBC requests associated with Direct and Indirect tax

Build and improve accounting processes, documentation, and controls in a fast-evolving environment.

Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Manage accounting for key areas such as prepaids, accruals, fixed assets, and cash.

Support financial reporting, including preparation of monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.

Partner cross-functionally (FP&A, Operations, Legal, Tax) to ensure accurate and timely financial data.

Assist with external audits, including preparing PBCs and responding to auditor requests.

Identify process gaps and drive automation and efficiency improvements using tools such as Excel, scripts, and AI-assisted workflows.

Leverage AI tools to streamline repetitive tasks and enhance reporting insights.

Support implementation and optimization of accounting systems and tools.

Take on ad hoc projects and special initiatives as the business scales.

What We’re Looking For

~5 years of experience in accounting or audit; Big 4 experience strongly preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CPA-eligible preferred.

Strong foundation in U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.

Ability to take ownership and work independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

Hands-on mindset with willingness to execute.

Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.

Experience with Excel; familiarity with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).

Interest in or experience with automation, data tools, or AI-driven workflows is a strong plus.

Strong communication skills and ability to partner cross-functionally.

Nice to Have

Experience in a high-growth startup or tech environment.

Exposure to system implementations, process automation, or data analytics.

Experience supporting audits.

Total compensation for this role also includes meaningful equity in a fast-growing startup, along with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. Base salary is determined by a range of factors including individual qualifications, experience, skills, interview performance, market data, and work location. The listed salary range is intended as a guideline and may be adjusted.

Base Pay Range (Plus Equity) $170,000 - $190,000 USD
