Today, we’re expanding our presence in Europe with the official launch of our Paris office. The city will serve as the central hub for Cohere’s rapidly growing operations across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), which has been a key market for our business. The Paris office will anchor our efforts to deepen engagement with customers, partners, and governments in the region to unlock significant productivity and efficiency gains with security-first enterprise AI technology.

By the end of the month, we expect Cohere’s local team to have 20 employees, including dedicated business and public policy leads who will collaborate with our highly-skilled existing research, engineering, safety, and product teams. Over the next year, we expect to double our headcount in the city, drawing on France’s outstanding AI talent pool.

This move reinforces our commitment to EMEA as a cornerstone of our global strategy, enabling us to better serve the specific needs of enterprises in the region. Cohere’s French team already plays a pivotal role working with employees globally on our technical leadership, contributing to our industry-leading multilingual models and our flagship secure agentic AI platform, North.

With the official opening of our Paris office, we will continue to add key leaders to our team in France. Our incoming VP of EMEA, to be formally named at the end of September, will officially start on October 1. With a proven track record as a leader at a major global technology company, he will be instrumental in driving our commercial growth and partnerships in the region.

Additionally, we’ve appointed Stéphanie Finck Piccin as our new Head of EMEA Public Policy. With over a decade of experience leading EMEA policy initiatives for Salesforce, she will help engage with policymakers to shape AI policy, advance our public sector work, and scale our sovereign AI solutions globally.

##### Expanding our EMEA presence

The new office will function as a broader EMEA hub, supporting our growing business in the region. This will allow us to continue to build out our local presence and foster deeper strategic partnerships.

> “I’m proud that Cohere is further investing in France, an outstanding centre for AI innovation, and adding world class business leaders to build Paris as a hub for our growth across Europe,” said Cohere CEO and co-founder Aidan Gomez. “Cohere is extremely well-positioned to meet the growing demand of sovereign and secure AI from businesses and governments, and we’re excited to have boots on the ground to better collaborate with our new and existing partners and customers in the region. We’re looking forward to contributing to France’s AI ecosystem and drawing from the pool of incredible local talent here as we grow.”

> Anne Bouverot, Special Envoy of France for Artificial Intelligence, commented, "Cohere’s presence in Paris is yet another illustration of the strength of the AI ecosystem in France and Canada. We are delighted and honored that Cohere has chosen France as a launching pad for its business activities throughout Europe."
