Baseten Sandboxes are now available
Date
November 5, 2026
A sandbox is an isolated environment where an agent runs commands and works with files, so each user or project in your agentic application gets its own place to build software, run research, and keep its work.
Start a sandbox from a built-in image or one you build, and manage it with the TypeScript, Python, or Go SDK, the Baseten CLI, the dashboard, or the Management API. Previews put a web app running in a sandbox on a public or private HTTPS URL.
Sandboxes are free to use until November 16.
Create a sandbox and run a command in it with the Python SDK:
python
import os from baseten.sandbox import SandboxClient with SandboxClient(api_key=os.environ["BASETEN_API_KEY"]) as client: sandbox = client.create(name="hello-world") result = sandbox.process.exec(command="python3 --version", wait_for_completion=True) print(result.stdout)
Each organization can run up to 10 sandboxes at once. To raise this limit, [contact support](mailto:support@baseten.co).
