• Added integration with the Azure Cosmos DB Shell, a lightweight bash-like CLI for interacting with Cosmos DB accounts (separately installable as a .NET global tool from Azure/CosmosDBShell). When the Shell is installed, the extension can launch it directly against a connected account from the tree view. The Shell supports Entra ID, connection string, and Azure CLI authentication; navigation of the account → database → container → item hierarchy with ls, cd, and pwd; data and management operations (query, mkdb, mkcon, mkitem, replace, patch, rm); pipelines and scripting with variables, loops, and functions; and an optional MCP server mode for AI-powered automation from GitHub Copilot and other MCP clients.
