We’re thrilled to announce that we have raised $300M at a $5B valuation. The round is led by IVP and CapitalG, both doubling down on their investment in Baseten, joined by 01A, Altimeter, Battery Ventures, BOND, BoxGroup, Blackbird Ventures, Conviction, Greylock and NVIDIA. Six years ago, we started Baseten with a simple conviction: the future would be built on many specialized models running in production at scale. We believed that fast, reliable, and secure inference would become the essential link between AI promise and real-world impact. Since then, a series of inflection points have repeatedly bent the adoption curve for custom models. First came Whisper and Stable Diffusion, then the Llama family and diffusion transformers, and more recently a new open-source surge led by DeepSeek, Qwen, and GPT-OSS. Today, reinforcement learning is the latest catalyst, enabling teams to tailor these models directly to the workflows they power. The last few years have been exhilarating: last year alone inference volume grew 100x. We’ve had the privilege of partnering with some of the fastest-growing, highest-quality companies in the space—Abridge, Clay, Cursor, OpenEvidence, Mercor, Notion, and others—and a front-row seat to the real value they’re delivering to users. Looking ahead, demand for inference will only accelerate. Thinking and reasoning models require orders of magnitude more compute, and AI adoption across consumers and enterprises continues to compound. As AI becomes embedded in every product and workflow, inference isn’t just growing—it’s becoming one of the largest markets ever created. We’re building the software that powers it. This is our third round of funding in the last twelve months. The additional capital gives us the ability to build the most ambitious version of Baseten. Today, this means building around what customers care about most: speed, uptime, and developer experience. Going forward, we will build the AI infrastructure platform that encompasses every user story that will lead to more inference, and thereby amplifying and accelerating the impact of AI.
