Release notes: Python SDK release candidate from fixed develop commit 8ca7ad9a26358143676a08a1fac56ee38fd4c956, including HostPath support from #116 and the version preparation in #117.
Changes
- Add
Mount(host_path=...)for existing paths visible to the selected node runtime. HostPath bind mounts default to read-only; writes require explicitread_only=False. - Preserve the Image/S3 mount behavior and the declared public
adx-environment==0.1.0rc2dependency. The HostPath adapter uses the pinned native SDK's request serializer and retains normal placement, transport and structured service errors. - Add the maintained HostPath example and usage guidance.
Install
After the publication workflow succeeds, install the exact candidate from the public index (Python >=3.10):
python -m pip install --index-url https://pypi.org/simple 'akernel-sdk==0.2.0rc3' python -m pip check ak --help
Scope and limitations
HostPath is intended for trusted management clients and operator-controlled source paths. The source must already be visible to sandboxd on the chosen node; in Kubernetes this requires an appropriate volume and volumeMount. The SDK does not create source directories, provision storage or replicate node-local data. It does not provide per-tenant source-path authorization; server-side authorization remains separately tracked in #110. Runtime-specific mount restrictions still apply.
Local SDK checks, distribution checks and offline HostPath serialization checks passed during preparation. A real-node HostPath read-only/write test has not been performed for this candidate. This SDK publication does not build or deploy a server image, change a cluster, or claim that earlier ACK/macOS acceptance was rerun with rc3.
The existing release workflow validates the fixed tag, develop ancestry, prerelease type, SDK and independent wheel/sdist installs, then publishes through PyPI Trusted Publishing. Existing releases and distributions remain immutable.
